Handmade Christmas Cards were exchanged, kudos to the out going Board Members and certificates by Mary Hill presented. Michelle did a fabulous job organizing the cuisine. All was merry and bright.
On December 16 fourteen Fabulous LV Scribes met at the Morelli House at 9th and Bridger for brunch and tea and to sample a fine example of history. This is a mid-twentieth century home frozen in time and once owned by Antonio R. Morelli, musical director for the Sands Hotel. It was moved from its spot on the golf course to its present location thanks to a preservation project by the Junior League of Las Vegas. Touring the home after tea one could experience first hand the effect of the bold horizontal lines, glass walls, open plan and natural materials that embody the modern architecture and modern living in that period. The connection with famous architect, Vladimir Kagan, and his exquisite 50's style furniture was a treat to witness. Dee Dee and Jenny were our guides who spun historic tales of how it all came to be and showed us many details and innovations from shower to copper fireplace which were awe-inspiring. Foods from the fifties were delicious and created by the scribes. Handmade Christmas Cards were exchanged, kudos to the out going Board Members and certificates by Mary Hill presented. Michelle did a fabulous job organizing the cuisine. All was merry and bright.
